Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior political figure stated the attack made him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
