Exactly 135 days following Russell Martin's initial media briefing as Rangers head coach, his replacement Danny Rohl met with reporters at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the challenge facing him is well known, given Martin's chaotic and unsuccessful four-month tenure.

The former Sheffield Wednesday boss was accompanied by club chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized pair of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Stewart.

But what precisely was revealed from the young German's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

One thing emerged loud and clear from Rohl's first appearance before the Scottish media - he recognizes the need to win matches, and do so rapidly.

The previous manager Russell Martin managed just 17 games and 123 days in charge, so the question arose about how long the new man believes is realistic to turn around the struggling squad.

While skillfully avoiding a direct answer that could bring later expectations, Rohl's message was very evident.

"Hopefully as soon as possible," he stated. "This is essential.
"In football you have limited time. You can discuss long-term vision but it's understood it's about immediate results and the short-term is about winning games. This is what I demand.
"One thing is also obvious - I require all players to understand how we want to play. I come back to my main theme: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this sequence, I believe that I will remain for years here."

Pressure is Normal

Danny Rohl press conference

Martin required a police escort to leave the Falkirk Stadium after his final match as manager.

We've witnessed how hostile situations can become at sports teams when performances decline. Demonstrations have almost become an expected part of the matchday atmosphere on each part of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful ever head coach, the inquiry was posed about which attributes Rohl believes he has that would enable him to cope, let alone thrive, in among the most pressurized roles in British football?

"I think expectations in football is normal," he commented. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I believe certain individuals might mention my age but I have been a decade and a half on this path. I had a great chance to be at the German club and be just the assistant coach, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the pressure involved.
"When you start getting results and then certain people will say you need to produce entertaining football. That becomes the phase but that's exactly what I want. I enjoy those expectations and I'm excited for what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Defends Chermiti Signing & Appointing Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of questions from the media for Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the hiring of his son as head of recruitment, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the role.

Nevertheless, he defended and explained the decision to recruit Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox.

"It's always awkward to hear and optically I think everyone understood when we made this decision to appoint him that he'd be viewed in a particular way," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to bring the top players here.
"My perspective on his professional path and background is he required no family help in soccer.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as head scout, after which he moved to Norwich as scouting chief and then got promoted to development role.
"Before we hiring him, multiple top division teams wanted to sign him. What we did right at the beginning of proceedings was consult with the CEO, the chairman and deputy chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I was extremely transparent and I think he likely experienced a stricter process than anybody else employee by the team.
"I'm certain is that he'll labor constantly to be successful for Rangers and I'm looking forward to him proving that he's going to be an excellent staff member for Rangers."

Thelwell also supported the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at the club for an alleged first payment of £8m, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese young international to Merseyside from Sporting Lisbon - again for large funds in a £15m transfer.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound purchase, who hasn't yet score in seven matches for the club.

"Absolutely, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I think the striker represents who's got huge potential.
"I've never questioned him whatsoever. Similarly, I think Danny will help to get the best out of the player.
"These are initial stages for him, he remains young talent and naturally with inexperienced players they sometimes require patience.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he is highly capable player."

The CEO Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Hurt

Stewart was also facing scrutiny, given the vitriol that has been aimed his way by certain of the club's fans.

Additionally, there was a banner in the stadium during the last draw with United inviting him - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before being removed for them.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not evade the issue.

"I completely appreciate the frustration and anger that the supporters are experiencing because results this season haven't been good enough and no one is satisfied with those," he stated.
"The hurt and frustration fans experience is mirrored within the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be an outlet for that dissatisfaction and as chief executive, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my role as a
